Olivia Sidebotham, MA, LPCC, MFTC
Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate and Marriage & Family Therapist Candidate
Hello and welcome! Every person is part of a larger story made up of relationships, experiences, and connections that influence how they see themselves and the world around them. Sometimes those connections help us thrive, and other times they can leave us feeling stuck, frustrated, or unsure of how to move forward. I believe that by taking a closer look at the patterns within our lives and relationships, we can uncover new perspectives and opportunities for growth.
I approach counseling through a systemic lens. This means I am interested not only in what is happening, but also in how different aspects of your life may be influencing one another. Together, we can explore relationship dynamics, personal strengths, life experiences, and the resources already available to you in order to create meaningful solutions that fit your unique circumstances. My work is grounded in strengths based and solution focused principles. I believe people are often more capable than they realize, and I enjoy helping clients recognize the abilities, resilience, and wisdom they already possess. Taking a holistic perspective, I consider the emotional, relational, and personal factors that contribute to well being while helping clients identify practical ways to move toward their goals.
Creativity also plays an important role in my life and in the way I view personal growth. I have a deep appreciation for expressive arts and the unique ways creativity allows us to communicate, process experiences, and better understand ourselves. In the future, I hope to pursue additional training in Expressive Arts Therapy so I can continue incorporating creative approaches into my work with clients.
I am newly married and share my home with one dog and two cats. Outside of counseling, I enjoy singing, playing piano, drawing, painting, cross stitching, dancing, acting, and exploring other creative outlets. I love the way creativity invites us to see familiar things from a new perspective, and I believe that same principle often applies to growth and change.
Sometimes meaningful change begins with seeing things differently. My hope is to help you recognize patterns, discover strengths, and create solutions that support the life and relationships you want to build.
