Jeff Munn, MA
Student Intern- Masters in Sport and Performance
I believe people are inherently capable of growth, change, and living meaningful lives when they have the support and opportunity to better understand themselves. My approach to counseling is holistic and person centered, recognizing that each person exists within a larger network of relationships, communities, experiences, and environments that influence how they see themselves and navigate the world. Understanding those connections helps create a more complete picture of both the challenges people face and the strengths they already possess. At the heart of my work is a deep respect for each person's authentic identity. I believe lasting change begins when individuals gain a clearer understanding of their values, beliefs, and sense of purpose. From that foundation, they can learn to navigate difficult thoughts and emotions with greater flexibility, make choices that align with what matters most to them, and build a life that feels both meaningful and fulfilling.
My approach is grounded in acceptance, self awareness, and genuine human connection. I place a high value on meeting people without judgment, honoring their experiences, and creating an environment where they feel respected and understood. Rather than focusing on who someone should become, I believe counseling can help people reconnect with who they already are and move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and intention. After serving 26 years in the military, I entered the counseling profession with a passion for helping others navigate adversity, uncertainty, and life's many transitions. My military experience shaped my appreciation for perseverance, adaptability, leadership, and the importance of maintaining a strong sense of purpose through life's challenges. Today, I enjoy helping clients identify their strengths, build self compassion, and develop practical ways to move toward the future they want to create. I believe every person has the capacity to live with greater authenticity, purpose, and fulfillment. My hope is to help clients strengthen their connection to what matters most and create a life that reflects the person they want to be.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my family, practicing Taekwondo, learning to play the piano, and cheering on my favorite baseball and soccer teams.
